THE PEOPLE’S VETS offers a first-hand account of the heart-warming, life-and-death cases treated by Europe’s largest charity veterinary practice.
The People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA) runs a 24-hour emergency service saving animals’ lives around the clock, the series follows the devoted staff of volunteers, nurses and the vets themselves, as they struggle to treat the constant stream of desperate, sometimes tragic, cases.
The series also tells the stories of the people who rely on the charity service to care for their pets when they fall ill. The unemployed, the elderly and people facing severe financial problems for whom their pets are their closest, and sometimes only, companions – they are the ones who call upon the PDSA.
Like an ER for animals, THE PEOPLE’S VETS is fast paced and full of surprises, offering a moving portrait of a whole community devoted to the voluntary care of animals.
