DLT APPOINTS CONSULTANT TO DEVELOP UK FACTUAL ENTERTAINMENT PROGRAMMING

Colin Rothbart joins leading international Independent

LONDON, UK, 1 August 2005 – Award-winning DLT Entertainment is to further strengthen its position as a leading independent producer in the UK with the announcement that Colin Rothbart has been appointed development consultant with a primary focus on non-scripted entertainment. This follows hot on the heels of the recent appointment of Carson Black as UK development consultant for Drama.

Rothbart will work on the adaptation of formats developed outside the UK, as well as UK originated ideas. Reporting directly to DLT’s Vice President Don Taffner Jr and Director of Comedy and Drama, John Bartlett, Rothbart will use his extensive industry experience to build on the success DLT has enjoyed in the UK with productions of As Time Goes By, Meet My Folks and My Family amongst others.

Rothbart has worked with a number of the UK’s leading broadcasters and Independents including BBC ONE and TWO; Channel 4 and Sky One. Most recently he was a Director on Airport (BBC), Rothbart’s other credits include stints as Director on Holiday (BBC ONE), Producer/Director on Get a New Life (BBC TWO) and Consultant Producer on Unreported World (Channel 4).

Commenting on the appointment, Don Taffner Jr said:

“We are delighted that Colin is joining us. We have already broadened our search for new and exciting Drama through the recent appointment of Carson Black. With Colin on board we will also be able to source, develop and create new and innovative programming in the non-scripted entertainment genre.”

Colin Rothbart added: “I am very excited to be associated with DLT - a company with a great track record. I’m looking forward to the challenge of developing a range of new and creative programme ideas for the UK marketplace.”
