Dara O Briain’s Go 8 Bit

Video games and comedy. Together. At Last.

Award winning comedian and well-known gaming and technology fan Dara O Briain (Mock the week, Robot Wars) hosts this six-part comedy series celebrating the world of video games. Part comedy panel show, part physical game show and wholly competitive, each week Dara is joined by guest stars including Bob Mortimer, Jason Manford, Susan Calman, Russell Howard, Josie Long, Gina Yashere, Marcus Brigstocke, Ed Byrne, Dave Gorman, Holly Walsh, England footballer David James and Countdown’s Rachel Riley, who battle it out – very vocally and passionately!

The series cherry-picks video games from the past including classics such as Pac-Man, Galaxian, Frogger, Asteroids, Resident Evil, Pong, Tetris, Tekken, Snake and Chuckie Egg plus respected modern titles including Star Wars Battlefront, Toybox Turbos, Gang Beasts, Nidhogg, Little Big Planet, Keep Talking & Nobody Explodes and Trials Fusion - all recorded in front of an interactive studio audience, who rate and score the teams via their smartphones.

Not only does Go 8 Bit revel in both the nostalgia and ephemera of much-loved retro video games, the series also demonstrates the very latest in exciting gaming technology - not to mention ending every episode with a specially supersized, physical version of a video game classic – played out in ways like you’ve never seen before!
