DLT ENTERTAINMENT CLOSES DEAL WITH NICK AT NITE FOR EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO THREE’S COMPANY THROUGH 2013
(Los Angeles 5 April 2004) DLT ENTERTAINMENT, Ltd., has closed a deal with NICK
AT NITE to extend the exclusive cable rights to “Three’s Company” through 2013.
The series has been one of the cable network’s most popular programs since it
first acquired the rights in the year 2000. The Emmy Award-winning series, which
was a predecessor to such shows as “Friends,” was a top-ten show throughout its
seven-year run on ABC (1977-84).
"Three's Company has proven to be a very
successful staple of the Nick at Nite line-up with a dedicated audience tuning
in consistently,” said DLT Vice President Don Taffner, Jr. “DLT is thrilled to
partner with Nick at Nite to ensure that Three's Company remains a top
destination for viewers through 2013."
The show's great writing, fun physical
comedy and brilliant cast headed by Suzanne Somers, Joyce DeWitt and John
Ritter, who passed away suddenly in September, 2003, continue to resonate with
viewers and it's presence on Nick at Nite ensures that the show will entertain
for generations to come.
Based on the
British series “Man About the House,” “Three’s Company” revolves around the
lives of three roommates, two young women – one who works in a flower shop
(Joyce DeWitt); a blonde typist (Suzanne Somers); and a klutz studying to be a
chef (John Ritter). Other series regulars are Norman Fell, Audrey Lindley and
Richard Kline. Don Knotts joined the show midway through its run.
